i've chipped my ps2 using the lid and a magic swap disk. i first did this about 3 years ago with an old ps2 of mine. i bought the equipment off the internet and fitted it myself. That ps2 finally ran out of steam and i bought a new one, when i opened it up to fit the lid i discovered it didn't fit any more, sony obv caught on to this and slightly altered the design inside but i managed to tamper with my lid and it fits in no probs. i must say tho, not all games work with this method.

YES YOU CAN, THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF MODS, A SOFT MOD, WHICH DOESN'T ENVOLVE YOU OPENING YOUR PS2, THE HARD MOD IS WHEN YOU ACTUALLY OPEN IT UP AND MODIFIY EQUIPMENTS, I'LL POST A REALLY GOOD LINK UP IN A MO.
