Fianlly a mom who loves her child enough to say NO. Tell her GREAT JOB!! She is truly doing the best thing for you to keep you safe by not allowing you to read things that you are not ready for. Also keeping you from talking to weirdos that have great manipulation skills and get you to do things you shouldn't do like computer porn, going to see them, setting you up to be sold into the sex slave trade, etc. and don't say that you wouldn't do it because other young folks have said it and then got caught up into it because they were at a vunerable place in their lives. Your brain is still growing and you do not have the ability to make choices that will affect you future and the present as well. Like sex- it may feel good now but if it produces a baby then you are paying support for 18 yrs. or raising a baby instead of living your teen life and concentrating on studies(also you won't have time for myspace because you would be neglecting the child). You think your future spouse will want a child to begin marriage with or child support out of your marriage budget? If not a baby then it could be a STD that you can't shake off and can affect your future health, children, or your wife. When you read that disrespectful mess on myspace and others you are filling your mind and heart with ideas that will have you acting disrespectful to yourself and others. What is allowed in- spills out!!!Mom knows and understands life and wants you to have a great future!!Be ever so thankful that you have a mom that loves you and takes the time to care for you. So many other kids are hurt, not fed well, have unsavory characters in the house, etc., and get ignored because their parents are wound up in their own selfishness.Your choice to rebell against your mom shows that you are Not responsible enough to make the choice or not to be on myspace-- which proves her point! Give mom a hug!

Trust is the name of the game! Talk to her and ask her to suspend the block for this one time only so you can check what ever it is that is so important. And let her know she can be there beside you when you do. If it is a Birthday supprise for her, then you will have to figure something else out!

Proxy would be the best decision. Also, try using the IP address of myspace instead of the adress. Also, if you have a parental controls program, end it's process in task manager by hitting control alt delete. download firefox. just experiment.

You don't. If you are under 18, you really should abide by her decision. If you feel that her decision is unfair. Show her that you are ready to be an adult and sit down with her to talk about it. Tell her why you think you should be allowed to use it. Once both of you have stated your reasons, now comes the true adult portion, compromise. Offer one or more of several things, such as her having access to your account to monitor your activities.
Sorry, but being under 18 and living with your parents, you have to follow their rules.

You should respect your mothers wishes! She has the best of intentions for you!
Why not talk it out with her? Tell her why you want to access the site?
Maybe she could unblock it and you could both visit it together.
I'm sure when she sees there is nothing to fear, she will allow you access to it again!
Otherwise, you could always do some research, the knowledge you seek is freely available after all:

No way - I'm not telling you. Maybe your mom blocked it because she can't trust you. You're disobeying her rules by trying to get to myspace.

well, dear, if mom says that its not good for you, then it's prolly worth listening to.
That said, if you are really serious about gaining her trust, try asking her. With good reasoning and demonstrating to her what your intentions are, perhaps she will relent.
That is better for the both of you in the long run..
Good luck

Go to
http://disney.go.com/home/today/index.html
and look through that site for about 5 years until you grow up, if your parents did this, they definitely did this for a reason.
You could also go to
http://www.cnn.com
and research Child Molesters who prey on children through the Internet.
Better still get out of the house and go enjoy the fresh air... Geez I sound like my dad !!!!!

Your Mom is protecting you, you could go to the public library though. It's free to use the internet there.
