Is it gender based or is a result of cultural conditioning?

It is cultural conditioning. They've been taught that it means they are a lady.

I, on the other hand, am proud to have a firm handshake - but then again I don't want a high, shrill, or little voice either, as many of these same women will have. I think I am every bit as feminine in my own way, I just think it shows character and I think I get taken more seriously in life this way. They think they get treated daintily and protected, etc. They very likely do get treated that way.

Peace!
