How can we end starvation? How can we end pollution? How can we ensure the survival of the human species? The answer to all of them is that we can't do any of them. The first two would require a sustained global effort which will never happen. The second one isn't in our control. We depend on the stasis of this planet for our survival. A random act of violence, or creation if you will, from the universe could end this planet and us along with it.

Dr.Hawking, the HUMAN MIND is the key factor. Our mind is so powerful, that it can go to great depths, and because of reaching such great depths, it has achieved so much politically, socially, environmentally and technologically. With the growing population on earth, there can be a huge combination of minds. But the sorry fact is that, all these minds are not focused in one direction, they reach out for different directions because of which we see so much diversity in this world. If all the minds universally are steered toward a constructive goal, then we can make this earth a better place to live in. Majority of the minds focus on self goals, without any effort for a broad and selfless focus. The self goals of all these minds are not structured toward a constructive pattern but rather, are unstructured toward minute self achievements, which deprives the possibility of reaching a constructive pattern for earth, universe and beyond. All the minds have to expand their thinking radius and start focusing on achieving universal goals (they need to think beyond themselves, think of how they can contribute to sustain and better this beautiful creation, the universe). After the universe was formed, it was left to the humans to work with it and enjoy living in it. At the same time, the human mind was given so many powers, but unfortunately, only a portion of those powers are utilized and that too for selfish goals. The rest portion of the mind, which is capable of expanding into dimensions, which are still unknown, are not being utilized as a result of which, the ultimate goal of making the universe a better place to live in, is not being realized. It is high time, the humans started exploring their minds, realizing its immense potential, and unite their minds toward a constructive and beautiful universe.

Sustain we will.
Smaller nations whom we least expected are comming out with positive results of big bang,ie, Iran, Korea. Many more like these will keep the bigger powers like USA & CO. in check.
Social upheaval are taking place everyday. China has inagurated the worlds highes railway, touching Tibet, the gateway to India, So the Indo-China relations will workout.
America has promised to get out of Iraq, either saying that mission is accomplished or secretly agree to taking a beating. Russia, Europe,Africa, Japan, etc. all are taking precautions of not starting wars. Each have old wounds to lick.
Enviromentally much progress is made. Newer turbines & motors are made which are less polluting.Alternate energy is fast in use like wind Mills, electrically powered
vehicles, solar power captivity.
And prophets & saints profess the begining of an ear that starts on a much calmer level.

First of all it's women..if you're referring to them as a group. Second they aren't a race they're a gender. I doubt you're really Stephen Hawking cause your English and question structure would be better...if you are SHAME ON YOU!
The human race will continue it's struggles for more than 100 years barring WWIII or rapid destruction/change in the living conditions from overpopulation or Global Warming. Assuming neither of those occur than humanity will struggle along till it exhausts it's resources here on Earth and currently there are more than 100 years worth of those...hence my answer. PEACE!

As Al Gore's film's title suggests that most of our problems are inconvenient truths.
The governments must stop politicizing things and take care of our homeless, our destitute, etc before thinking about spending billions of dollars on special interests outside of our country. Imagine what the money that we send to other governments and special interests could do for our own society for a start. This is where it should start and that is only in the USA.....
Stop the madness! Really!!!!!
