can the blood be like a brown color? Is this my period?

Old, or dried blood comes out brownish.

It looks like that at the beginning of a period, because the flow hasn't started good, and at the end (about 5-7 days later), as the flow is slowing down.

If this is your first period, you are likely to be brownish for the whole time, as your body is just starting. You may have a couple of months like that, before your body starts really getting the hang of that part of being a woman.

Has someone clued you about keeping track of your periods on a calendar? If not, get yourself a calendar, and mark on it the day your period started (today). Then, in anywhere from 24 to 32 days, you can expect to have another - if you start regularly (which you might not at first). The average is a period every 28 days. It really helps to know when you are likely to start, so you can carry stuff with you - and not be "surprised".

is it brownish-redish? if so then yeah.
-- Yeah you probaly got your period. It's a bit dry and weird colored at first. It's not as much in the beginning

Yes, it most likely is... unless, of course, you have recently suffered some sort of accident whereas internal bleeding was a possibility.

brownish blood is usually just older blood coming out...it could be ur period, but usually you get more after that...

Either that or your hymen broke...have you been doing much physical activity? Dancing, karate, bike-riding, horse riding, etc?
