I have tried writing a letter . I did not call since I do not want to disturb. I believe he is very busy so he can not reply. my chances are slim I guess, yet I admire him and would very much like to be his apprentice. I am taking a long shot here hoping someone have an idea..

Call his office, and let his assistant know that you'd like to meet him for a brief visit.

Ask if it would be better to meet him in his office, or perhaps meet for a sandwich at lunch.

Be upfront about your reason for wanting to meet with him. There's nothing quite as uncomfortable as being blindsided with an employment request at a supposed 'fan' meeting.

And good luck. Bring your enthusiasm and talents to the table, and you'll become a great apprentice.
