Last night went into labor and delivery for contractions. The nurse did an exam and I was dialated 1cm but the contractions were not strong enough so i was sent home. Had some pink discharge last night after exam as normal and then this morning i had a a brown/ white stringy discharge. What does all this mean?

Also i'm a repeat c-section so the doctors don't want me to have strong continuous contractions due to the fact that my uterus could rupture.

I would call the doc or go to Labor and delivery for certain I think you need to be checked especially since you are a repeat c-section with the risks you mentioned. Sounds like you lost your mucous plug sometime this morning. Sounds like you're gonna be having a baby in the next couple days congrats!

was the discharge thick? was it a lot? you might be loosing your mucus plug. also, if you want to go into labor sooner, do a lot of walking, that helps brings the contractions sooner. you could be 1cm for weeks before you dialate any further but with spotting and discharge it sounds like labor is just around the corner for you.

Unfortunately Labor Day is quite a ways off. But it was nice to have 4 days off this year with the 4th being on Tuesday.

you are close but no cigars. you have lost your mucous plug and until you are 10 meters dialated you could be awhile. the main event will really get underway when your water breaks. i went on for along time stuck at 5 cm, until the doctor decided to go ahead and break my water, then all hell broke loose!!

Not known. From description you could go full blown any minute or it might be another 2-3 weeks. It just depends on nature.

i dont think brown in a good sign? maybe its okay durring labor since all the blood and stuff is ready to be expelled.... you have to call your hospital or doctor and ask them, this is one time when asking online isnt going to help you. its jsut as easy to call the doc and find out for sure, since he knows your medical history through this pregnancy.

Probably that the mucous plug has been "released". Call your doctor again. Better safe than sorry.
