Check into the spyware issue. Spybot.com, Lavasoft.com have free downloads.
Often, when there is spyware on your computer, it tries to control where you go on the net and what you see.
For instance, if Ford motor company was to put spyware on your computer (and I am NOT saying that they do), they would want to prevent you from going to a Chevy sight. The message you say you got is what would come up in this instance. There may also be a lot of "this site is not available right now, try again later." That sort of thing.
It could get really bad as time goes on - Chevy (hypothetically) could add spyware, too - and then it becomes a battle for control of your computer, and you always lose.
If running spyware software doesn't eliminate the problem, contact geekstogo.com - its free and they'll help you clear up the trouble. They're really nice and really terrific at what they do.
good luck.

You are experiencing 'program freeze'---add more memory to RAM--this doesn't solve the problem completely but it will significantly settle the consistancy and regularity of the event

because it sounds as if you have a slow pc, prolly due to low availble resources ie processor time and RAM, on your pc/laptop. Either upgrade or open as few as possible applications and give them more time to complete.
But uit does sound as if your only real option is to upgrade
