Jim Croce. He was killed at only 30 years of age in a plane crash in Natchitoches, Louisiana on September 20, 1973, just as he was beginning to reach the height of his popularity. Anyone who appreciates his music mourns the loss of what would likely have been many many years of incredible songwriting and performing.
