I believe she was not asked to renew her contract and kept it under wraps from the rest of the cast. That's why they are all holding some animosity towards her. i.e. Barbara Walters was shown telling Larry King how betrayed she felt by Star that she kept it a secret.

I don't have any facts, just speculation - it was probably not just one thing, but a combination of different things like Rosie (O'Donnell) coming in with her past comments made that she didn't understand why Star was so secretive about her weight loss. Rosie and Barbara Walters are close personal friends.
Star got to thinking she was a legend comparable to Barbara Walters and she is not. She is much larger than life in her own mind than in reality, although she does have a respectable fan base. Annoying to me, she started hocking religion on air.
There have been numerous rumors that Star has become a demanding diva
(b*t*h). She and Joy has their differences.
Her wedding caused some distance among her cast-mates. Some say that is when the rift began.
I didn't particularly like her, so I won't miss her. (I don't see much daytime TV anyway - only if I am home sick), but, I think that both parties, Barbara Walters and Star were not happy with how Star's exit was handled. I think Star put herself in the role of the victim (just my opinion) It could have been much much worse!

ok, starr jones doesn't like rosie, cause rosie is gay and rosie don't take no stuff. starr want's to be the highlight of the show,and she thought that was gonna happen when meredith left. she's pissed. ever since she got married, she wants to be the center of attention. she needs to watch out cause her new hubby is on the downlow....really

Because she annoyed viewers by talking about her over the top wedding all the time and plus Rosie O'Donnell dislikes her so much!
