There is nothing immoral about feeding teeming masses of poor people. There is everything immoral about artificial birth control.

you are absolutely right in a way, but if you may be aware, ther are organistions, like family planning association international, planned parenthood, and sme other good ones, which are already working with their net work all over the world. inspite of all this, children are dying of hunger, malnutrition, childhood diseases, and lack of hygiene, prper medication. so if bono wants to help in eradicatng poverty, by providing food, it's in keeping with the programmes like combat hunger and all that don't you agree that a hungry person will not listen to your advice on literacy, or environment, family planning? so you will have to feed him first, care for him, and he would react better. but we should not make him dependent also, give him a source of income, instead, next time. but the children should be helped first.
it's also gets a good name for the donor, that he is feeding the hungry? no one would give a damn, if he starts propogating family planning, as per your suggestion?

I don't think food or birth control will help the poor around the world. The corrupt governments of these countries need to be put out of service, preferably by the people themselves.
