I really, really, really want England to win. Unfortunately I know this is an impossibility as they were knocked out last weekend by the cheating Portuguese scum and had they won then there's no saying that they would have beaten France in the semi-final. However, your question was not which of the two teams playing would I like to end up victorious. Your question was who do I want to win the World Cup this afternoon and although its impossible, I still want England to win.
Of the two teams left in the competition though, I really hope that its a good game and not a disappointment. For the French it would be great for the likes of Zidane and Viera to end their international careers on a high. For the Italians it would be good for their domestic game to gain some pride after the scandal that has rocked it to its very core.
I was in France last weekend for the 90th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme and watched the England game in a Bar in Albert with a bunch of the locals. When we lost they were genuinely sympathetic and bought me drinks to help me get over the pain So I would like France to win, just for them.

I think I want France to win but wouldn't be too disappointed if Italy won because they've played some nice football through the tournament.

Italy already did! 3-0. Totti, Zambrotta and Grosso in the 1st ,2nd and 3rd minutes. Then France decided to stop the game in the 4th minute...
