You could have a tilted cervix. That was my problem. When I was able to get one in, it would eventually fall out because I couldn't get placed properly.

If its a women counselor then they should understand if you really do not want to use tampons. I would use the playtex or pearl plastic applicator tampons because those seem to slide in easier. I would suggest on your first time to give yourself about 15 mins. to get it in. This will make you feel calmer and not worry about being rushed.
Just relax and read up on the internet about how to use a tampon. Plus try reading the packet in the tampon box to make sure how to use it. Each tampon is different. When it is in deep enough and in properly you should not feel it. When you pull it out and it hurts, that means it is not fully absorbed.
Also you might want to check with your doctor if you continue to have problems because some people just can't use tampons for some reasons.
Goodluck and have fun at your camp.

I continually had complication too, yet after many tries back interior the day i got here upon a position that works extra acceptable. basically I had to be bent over (both ft on the floor status, not sitting on the lavatory which made it not achievable to even get in.) like all different poster stated, I aimed the tampon in the direction of the bottom of my back in the start to get it partly way. I nonetheless met resistance 0.5-way up, yet would attitude the tampon ahead slightly to get previous that then objective back in the direction of the decrease back. It become continually an same from even as i turned right into a virgin or after giving start 4x. The tampons with the rounded ends are less difficult than the flat tops till it become Tampax's "youngster/narrow" length. good success!

One, do you have the right opening? If you have never used them before and are a virgin, you have what is called a hymen that covers the vaginal opening. And in that situation sometimes getting a tampon inserted is difficult to say the least. Big thing is to relax.

i don't mean to be rude ,,but , first up lose your modesty until you get it figured out and use a mirror...whether you are sitting down or squating over the mirror it will allow you to see your objective...also try using a slimline model or ones with a guiding applicator end when you get proficient then you will have not only gained proficiency but more confidence

Good first answer. Some people are destined to go without! Try to see if your doctor can give you any advice. If not, invest in pads. Uncomfortable, yes, but you've gotta do something!

If you are a virgin the hymen may be blocking the tampon - you can still use a tampon but would need to break that barrier - if not - just go visit your gyn. and see if he/she finds a reason - if no reason, they can also teach you.

You just need to relax and take it slowly. Try with some ky gel to start off with and try not to tense up. The more you stress about it the more you will find it difficult, so try a mini size one to start off with.
