If the source fits the subject and answers the question then why object? No objections hear.
If I need a question answered about X Men, then quote from X men. If I have a question about a Steven King novel, then by all means use his novel as a source. The same goes for any subject. If I have a question or answer about the bible, then the Bible should be the source.
Truly opened minded people will not object.

Logically, there shouldn't be any objection to the Bible as a source. It is just as valid in documenting an opinion as any other source. When a question is asked, no one forces anyone to accept an answer. The reason people ask questions is to get differing viewpoints therefore they shouldn't object to the answers they receive. If they do, they weren't looking for answers they were looking for agreement to their already formed opinion.

The Bible may answer the question from your perspective. Some feel that it is not much more than a collection of myths and I can pull just as valid a reference from any Stephen King book.

Why should I object if someone refers to the Bible in an answer? That's not a problem. The problem is religious fanatics of all stripes who try to thrust their beliefs upon everyone else, as if they alone know the truth and the rest of us heathen are damned to eternal torment if we do not immediately accept as Universal Absolute Truth whatever silly myth the fanatics believe in.

You well know the reasons to object. A collection of unsubstantiated myths is not a valid reference source during the course of a rational, objective argument.

I don't object because the Bible will tell you to do the right thing not the easy. Most people want fast and easy.

Well, think of it this way. What if you asked someone a question, and they answered with a quote from the Koran? Or how about a quote from the Upanishads? Or maybe a quote from a Wiccan book?

If you asked me a complex history question and I whipped out an X-Men comic book would you accept any answer from it?
Now you know how I feel.
