Why can't people of different political parties get along? Why can't we work together as one?

Democrats don't like Republicans because the average Republican is a conservative christian/religious person. Republicans don't like Democrats because the average Democrat is a liberal. We may believe differently and have different views but why can't we just listen to each other? Why can't we consider the other side? Why do we keep fighting each other? Why can't Democrats and Republicans come together? Our differences in beliefs, opinions, and views shouldn't keep us away from working together. Why can't we work together as one group. One party. One people. Americans. Nothing else.

to answer simply...Everyone thinks that their opinion is the right one. Unfortunately in human nature, it seems that only division breeds excitement and motivation for change. If we all believed in the same philosophy I believe our country would be stagnant. It is this that makes up our country. Just like a child that misbehaves...there may be times you are frustrated but you don't stop loving your child. See America the same way..

Well for one thing, people with deep religious views can't compromise their beliefs. For many Christians abortion is intrinsically wrong. Same sex unions are wrong. Distributing birth control in high schools or even lower grades is wrong. While I can agree on many social reforms, I don't believe in free handouts for those who refuse to work. Sadly or not, people won't compromise their religious views nor should they have to. Yes there are many things both parties can come together on, but moral issues will continue to divide us. I see "thinkstoslow" is at it again. (thank god kookoobanana has been suspended). These two loony tunes are so far out in left field even the liberals can't stand them. Sure, I want some drugged out drunk cutting my 80 year old grandmas lawn or painting her house. NOT!!! When you stop smoking that wacky weed....maybe we can talk!

Because people are more interested in attacking each other than attacking the issues. Nothing good comes out of such things; in order to work together, we have to listen to each other and respect each other's differing opinions. I wish we could do more of that in this country.

THIS is a few simple non partisian things we can work on but are bogged down in politics with both sides refusing to enact any meaningfull solutions and applying band-aides and duct-tape to a sinking system with to much regulationas shown to be ineffective at solving the problem and increasing our taxes annually .
WHY have simple solutions not been found for these problems are we not able as people to do the simple task of meeting the needs of the nation.
IS simple math skills beyond politicians .like taxes collected = expenditures .we do not spend more then we make .and if we barrow from ourselfs why do we pay intrest on the debt charge ourselfs more is good common sense right.wrong paying intrest on the national debt adds to inflation .
INVESTING billions in military defense is bankrupting our future.
who will pay this debt back and since we charge ourselfs intrest on the debt we increase it.
huge government agencies employee millions of workers when a simple system can be employed .WE all have a number called S.S.# all our records are stored on this system.BANKING ,LOANS ,PROPERTY ,CRIMINAL ,EDUCATION, everything needed to determin if someone has fallen away from society and become non productive .these people become a much larger drain on society as a hole if not taken care of .WE need to put people to work in prder to get something in return for there existence .I would propose a public workes projects to develop lands for housing ,and production of simple goods that benefit all mankind.like public parks used for the enjoyment of all people public golf courses recreational facilitys and librarys .SOME of the simplist jobs can be done by anyone and this does not mean they should be treated any different then educated fully selfsufficent members of the community.LEAVING so many people on welfare with no return is a drain on our economy and these people need help not hand outs .by working just 20 hours a week they could replace the cost of welfare all togheter in 10 years.to a system that funds it self with small fees paid to use facilitys maintained for the public good.SHOULD you need help maintaining your home as you become older your community will provide workers to mow your lawn weed your gardens and help you maintain your property to its best value. painting and many home repairs could be done by people with limited skills .THESE people my not be the soberist or drug free people of society but having them work 20 hours a week in return for a clean safe place to live is only in the intrest of all concerned.CRIME rates climb every month around the 7th this is because welfare receipients run out of cash for drugs and resort to stealing .they have all day to figure out ways to take your property and pawn shops are there banks and lending institutions.WE need to do away with such places anyone who would sell gold and stereo's tolls and t.v.'s is in trouble and paid pennys on the dollar for goods they have paid good money for or stolen .WORK is to easy to come by everyone has weekends of work piled up that needs attention and if it were given to you by uncle sam in return for something you would not feel so bad paying a few dollars if it helped america to be safer and more productive.
IF you are scared of these people for some reason please say so and why do they scare you .if you just want them locked up then say so and pay the cost .about 25,000 per year that is double the minimum wage and when they get ot they still need to do something so accepting people who are less productive you are paying double what it would cost to have them do something and in return these people would have a safe place to live a phone cable food and would be participating in there own climb out of poverty after they become more sensitive to there fellow man and realize they to have a place among society and an important roll to play.BY working to build there own homes they provide a place for others to live .I have been in construction for many years and the total amount of hours neeeded to build a 1600 sq.ft. home is under 500hrs the materials less then 40,000 dollars we invest over 10,000 a year to welfare moms and families with no return what-so ever. the cost increases each year and crime goes up in these neighbour hoods.by making people work just 500 hrs togheter andd a one time investment of 40,000 dollars or less we provide manufaturers incentives to produce more and in turn people eased back in to society become usefull productive people who own homes and make the world a better place .we get something back is all i am saying it is not wasted year after year .make them work for the community and there own homes and begin to help all people own there residences o% loans on land and homes because it produces something good for america stability.
