Well they gave us a corrupt system of government that we could make even more corrupt without a way to cure it. I think the Norse had a better idea. If two guys had a dispute they settled it with each other without lawyers.

I am sorry I could not get the exact hang of the query. Does it posit that we are ungrateful wretches to hate the Romans after all that they have done for us? Or is it a simple query if we harbouring any ill feelings for them despite all that they have done for civilisation?
As regards the first part I do not think that there is anybody with soul so dead as never at least to himself hath thanked the Romans for all that they have done to us.While Indian and Chinese civilisation have a long,continuous history of civilisation it must be granted that it is the common thread of the Roman civilisation that runs the most developed people in the world--to be specofoc the Western World with its progressive traditions and humanitarian outlook.We would be ungrateful wretches if we were do not give the Romans their dues.
Actually there is no illwill --there cannot be--towards these harbingers of moder n civilisation. We proudly call outselves Roman catholics despite the fact that it was a Roman commander Pilate who ordered crucifixation of Christ. Viva Romana.

Well, looking back into history, they established a couple of MAJOR religions in the world, they brought style and culture, they- along with the Greeks- broguht about the artistic revolution, they gave uis the calender that we currently use, they gave us the militaristic style that is used by the majority of the nations in the world.
To fully answer your question: I don't hate them at all.
