Yahoo! Answers
15 December 2005 | yahoo! | 1 Comment
Yahoo! Answers is a bit addictive. I dropped by the site two days ago to see what the fuss was about. I was not expecting much because it is just a question and answer site, but there is an addictive quality to it — and I think it is the whole point/level system that Yahoo! has implemented. You get points for answering questions, rating questions, and picking best answers. You “level up” like in any RPG game with the more points you get. There are daily limits placed on lower rated people: Level 1 gets to answer 10 questions, rate 10 answers, and ask 10 questions. Level 2 gets twice that. Level 3 gets three times. Level 5 and up get unlimited. This throttles the people who want to level up pretty quickly and forces them to answer and rate only quality questions. Beats me, I find myself spending quite a few minutes at Yahoo! Answers everytime I visit. It’s crazy. Anyways, give it a shot and see if you get addicted too.

Yes; it comes from our primitive instinct to help others out with their problems. It's called compassion. You see someone with a questoin, you can't help answering. It's just a great resource. Such a large network of people that can assist you with any queries you may have and you know that you're going to get different views and opinions as there are people from all over the world. It's addictive, but it's a great resource!

It's not addicting, as soon as I reach level 4, I'm taking a nice long break weeks, maybe. I'm only on here for a few minutes at a time, then go elsewhere.

Yes very addicting.I have been on here since March 22 and haven't missed one day of being in Yahoo!Answers.I love to answer questions more than ask them.I love voting for best answers or giving thumbs up to those who deserve them. It's a great way to gain knowledge on anything and everything.
