A Psychiatrist, as opposed to a Psychologist has completed medical school and is also an M.D. This allows him or her to prescribe and dispense medications. So this is the most common route.

Pediatrics is working with kids. In hosiptals, M.D.'s handle the medical side (ailments, injuries, and surgeries), while Psychologists and Psychiatrists deal with any psychological and mental issues or disorders.

Most Pschologists work independently, but there are plenty of othres who are part of a larger practice with others. But there's definitely a line between the medical and the psychological sides.

All medical fields include some psychology. But being a psychiatrist has a lot of both. It's a medical doctor that specializes in psychology.
