if u want to go cheap, tie the muffler to a tree with a rope or chain and drive vehicle until desired shape is achieved.
a muffler shop can cut out bent parts and weld in new. if it was bent from driving over something, then expect the cost to rise because the muffler and pipers are attached to other components that will also bend.

As much as it takes... after living a long life of cheap auto repairs I've learned one thing:
1. Exhaust systems should be fixed by the pros and front-end alignments...
I've learned two things:
1. Exhaust systems should be fixed by the pros and
2. Front-end alignments need special equipment that only the pros can handle and modern tune-ups....
There are three things I've learned:
1. Exhaust systems should be fixed by the pros
2. Front-end alignments need special equipment that only the pros can handle.
3. And modern tune-ups are a ****** - they just replace expensive parts.
To answer your question depending on what they have to fix it could run anywhere from $50 (muffler only) to $200 (muffler and pipes) to $500 (muffler pipes and cat converter).
Don't cheap out - my ears are ringing from a couple months of loud exhaust a while back and it was a cheap repair compared to safety and health.

If the muffler is the only thing damaged, it should cost about $40-$60 to have it replaced, depending on the vehicle. If pipes, mounting brackets or other things need repair / replacement, the cost will rise.

well if the muffler is not bent to bad, keep on rolling. if it is badly bent, replace it. Some states have laws that govern the condition of exhaust systems and is usually found when you have your vehicle inspected every year.
