They dont let people die - people die because the present stage of medical science can not keep them alive for ever.
And it is the same in hospitals all over the world.
So learn to accept the inevitable and continue with life while it is there with a smile - no point getting into the critics role

i dont think that hospitals "let" people die. all medical professionals take an oath to save lives not let them die. people die because of many reasons. medical technology helps reveal parts of the human body we couldnt see otherwise. it also helps with treatment but it not a life saver. if its your time to go, its your time to go.

One reason could be that in some cases the patient's head arrives in a different ambulance than the rest of their body.

We have the best military technology in the world too, but some of our soldiers still get shot.

People have rights. DNR orders. But Also, there comes a point where the means does not justify the end. Vents for the rest of your life in a veggie state does not mean living.

Some people cannot be saved because their condition is too bad. Others have health care plans that suck. Others have no health care plans at all. You can't expect health care professionals to come in from the golf course for nothing, can you?

all of the previous answers have their usefulness but also remember...some people just give up for numerous reasons...
tired of living , worried about how to pay the bill , always in pain, no-one to help them , no-one that can understand them...either by speech difficulties or speaking a language that is not common in that part of the U.S.
