Ultimately, man stops man from being in balance with nature. Man has chosen to remove himself from his environment and instead of changing and adapting to his environment, attempts to change his environment to suit himself. This removal has left us detached and alienated from our original place on this planet. As long as man continues on this path he will remain out of balance.

His way of upbringing. Depends on how you were raised. If you were always kept indoors and told that by being outside you'd be exposed to many illnesses, or that it was not good for health reasons, then you have yet to learn about nature. I believe that in order to acheive balance with nature, it has to be what you want. Let the inner consious do your bidding. For example, by nature, I feel that the body actually knows when something is not good for you. Example, drugs. The first several times you use it, your body rejects it, your deeper inner concious tells you this is no good for you. However, from use upon use, you've actually convinced your inner concious that the error (or wrong that your doing to yourself) is now not a wrong and your concious now accepts that wrong and allows you to continue in that process. Now drugs are okay, and you'd actually have to start all over again to convince your inner concious into believing now that drugs or whatever is not good for you. (The opposite). So in my opinion in order to acheive that balance with nature, ask yourself this question, what is it that I seek in myself in order to balance myself out. The nature is from within, if your not feeling good about something that is happening with you spiritually and mentally, that is where you need to start. I recommend you read this free e-book (I believe it's still free), it's a good start by Thomas J. Chalko "The Freedom of Choice" ( A little about him) Written by a competent scientist and academic, The Freedom of Choice is a fascinating reading for anyone intelligent – from a high school student to the top scientist on the planet - in any discipline. http://thefreedomofchoice.com/ and another wonder documentary was the Secret has had a great impact on people who have seen it, myself included...http://whatisthesecret.tv/

You first have to experience it, to be in harmony with it! Mankind as a whole will never be in harmony with nature as there is far too much a global economy can rape from it! Yet on a personal level, don't talk about it, do it! Get out in it, write about what you experience, sketch what you see. Learning to be a balance by watching that which is or rather was before humans thought we had a better mouse trap!

To quit looking at what other people are doing and look within, what is stopping Me from being in balance with nature, finding oneself in accordance with your true nature and nature As It Is, it all starts with you. It requires effort to change, no effort, no change. In the beginning its like grasping smoke but the smoke will clear enough to see the path to take. For me it's by example, effective leadership, being accountable for my actions and to bring that awareness to those people around me in a kind and compassionate way, the saying when one person gains spirituality the world gains in spirituality in that measure. Please remember the power of one person in the scheme of things, and also that good things take time so over time YOU can make a difference,

A mixture of power and ignorance. The technology that we possess allows us to survive, so we increase our use of it in ignorance of the results. This is not a trait that is unique to humans, where any other animal to reach our level of power they would probably be just as 'out of balance' with nature.

Competition. Old school needs to be dominant and secure lead to a drive for technological and social advances that are counterproductive for global harmony and co-existence of man and earth.
