Absolutely true. First, our minds filter all information based on our past experiences. Second, have you ever noticed that a positive person and a negative person can be in the exact same place and come away remembering different experiences? If you're looking for or expecting good, you'll see it. The same goes for bad.

People believe what they want to believe. But reality does exist. It's the thing that persists even when you don't want to believe it.
