my son had to switch...once you find a formula that suits your baby its best to stick with that kind. it is easier on their digestive system.

I would take more than enough formula with you, I was able to switch my son but he had only had one powder can of the first kind since I wasn't able to get to wal-mart between the time I got home from the hospital and when the store was closing.
Take your supply with you, just to be safe. And no matter how old your baby is always boil the water first when traveling, especially out of the country.

Try to stick with one brand once you find the one that settles with your baby. It took me 4 formula's to finally find one for my daughter that she could digest when I couldnt breast feed. If you travel take a supply with you. My brother and his wife adopted a baby from China and their formula's are much different than what we have in America. It took some time to find something comparable to what he was already acclimated to. Another countries standards may not be what the American FDA or your home country has as essential for babies. Always over plan when traveling with a child. Your baby could have a bad reaction and you could spend the entire trip with a crying baby.

I believe it would be better to take a supply with you... Even though the baby may be fine with it, he/she may not... And you dont want to go through that while away from home and the baby's doctor.
Or what you can do is try the new formula before traveling.
In any case I think you should still consult the doctor.

It all depends on the baby. Some babies will get an upset stomach or they won't like the taste. I switched formula for my daughter and had no problems. Do it slowly so that you can monitor how your baby reacts.

You can switch the type of formula the baby drinks. We temporarily had to switch our baby's formula because she had reflux. The doctor just told us to give it a week to make sure that her body gets used to it.

you really need to talk to your babies doctor. Not all countries have the same regulations on the way baby formula is made. The FDA approves everything for the USA, but others countries may not have the same thing.

You should take supply with you because it may cause some stomache discomfort and gas buildup. Sometimes you can change formula but it should only be when the child is having trouble with current formula.

I switched all the time to whatever was on sale or what I had coupons for. They are all pretty much the same if you dont count added iron etc.

It would make sense to take a supply with you.
