I tried deleting and reinstalling drivers. I did a system restore.

Buddy..you are halfway down. Deactivate Windows firewall, do a system scan with the anti-virus...dont do a system restore....install drivers but on a different port. It should work. Good Luck.

Without knowing more about your system, it's possible to tell exactly what your problem is, but my suggestion would be to go into the Windows Device Manager and remove the USB from the hardware list.

Then I would do a restart and see if Windows detects them and tries reinstalling. If it doesn't detect them automatically, then run Add / Remove New Hardware and you can do it manually.

If that doesn't fix the problem, then it could be that the ports got fried for whatever reason, most likely a power surge.

In device manager --if you donot see any bang signs(exclaimations)
(its a sign that drivers are good and installed properly)


If NO bangs, Do a complete operating system reinstall ..

It pains but might be the only way out !

tip- to goto Device manager

Right click MY COMPUTER icon, --> properties ---> hardware---> device Manager button
