For every Israeili that dies, 10 Palestinian civilians are murdered. The world remains silent. Why should such injustice and crimes be allowed in this so-called civilized world? How do you people sleep at night knowing about the mass-murder of innocent Palestinian men, women and children that happens almost every day? Why is the world doing nothing? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD??

If the Palestinians want to stop dying, they need to stop attacking. Each Israeli attack follows an act of terror by the Palestinians.

The most recent Israeli attacks followed Palestinians firing off rockets from a beach, and a group of Palestinians tunneling under a wall to capture and murder Israelis.

All innocent? I think not. Many - yes. All - no way. Note: the Israelis that died were murdered as well. Palestinians started the recent imbroglio by kidnapping Cpl. Shalit. If they were interested in ending the Israeli offensive, they would release him. Until they release him, Israel shouldn't stop the offensive. Should be a no brainer for anyone serious about ending the Israeli incursion into Gaza. Hamas is not interested in peace, nor is Islamic Jihad or the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.

A friend explained the history of the conflict to me in historical terms and I thought it most interesting. Here's what he said:

In 1948, when the UN partitioned Palestine into 2 separate Israeli and Palestinian Arab states, the Arabs rejected partition (which would have given the Palestinians a sovereign nation immediately) and attacked Israel from all directions, bent on its complete destruction. Israel won that war (and its independence), but at the end of that war Egypt controlled Gaza, and Jordan controlled the West Bank.

Before the Six-Day War in 1967 there was no "occupied Palestinian territory" issue. From 1948 through 1967, Gaza was part of Egypt, the West Bank was part of Jordan, both Egypt and Jordan forced the Palestinians to live in squalid refugee camps and did not permit them to become Egyptian or Jordanian citizens or integrate into their societies – and, being police states, Egypt and Jordan brutally suppressed any Palestinian dissent or demands for independent statehood. Neither the rest of the Arab world, nor the UN, nor the international news media, nor the non-Arab world spoke a single word in protest on behalf of the Palestinians' living conditions, or their civil rights in Egypt or Jordan, or their entitlement to independent statehood. By contrast, Palestinian Arabs who lived within Israel's original borders since 1948 became full Israeli citizens.

Also during 1948 to 1967, Israel was subject to constant – daily – cross-border terrorism against civilians from Egypt and Jordan, and routine shelling from the Golan Heights by Syria, as well as constant threats of and attempts at military destruction from every single Arab country in the world, all of which were backed and supplied by the Soviet Union. Basically, most of the Arab world was allied with the Soviet Union. Israel was the sole stable, reliable, pro-US, anti-Soviet democracy in the Middle East, and became allied with the US much the same as the Western European democracies are allied with the US. (How often do you hear Americans complain, "Hey, why the hell do we bother being allied with the UK?" You don't, because the answer is fairly obvious.).

Then comes the 1967 war, where Israel occupied Gaza and the West Bank. Now, all of a sudden – Revelation! – the Arab world is deeply concerned with independent statehood for the Palestinians, and begins fomenting even more terrorism against Israel, much of it backed behind the scenes by the Soviet Union; but this time, not only are the Soviets using the Arabs as their proxy weapon against the West, but the Arabs are now using the Palestinians as their proxy weapon against Israel.

Why all the UN General Assembly resolutions against Israel? Simple. A large numerical chunk of those votes came from recently-independent states in Africa and other parts of the world, most of which were bitterly resentful at the centuries of demeaning colonialism to which they had been subject at the hands of Western European countries, who for the most part backed Israel. So the African states' diplomatically allying themselves with the Arab states and against Israel was fairly logical, but based mostly upon their own self-interest.

I guess it's because they give the world something to rationalize the killing for. When they blow up a bus, it goes all over the world on the news. But when a Palestinian is killed, we don't hear about it. When Israel goes in, we all think - Well, they've got to defend themselves - they keep getting their kids killed at nightclubs, pizza parlors and on the bus.

Stop killing Israelis altogether for 5 years and see what happens. I'm being honest.

Why do you not mention the repeated attacks by the Palestinians against Israel? Even after Israel pulled back, returned land previously captured. If the Palestinians want peace they have no further to look than themselves. i do not feel sorry for them, they have created their own problems.

Get your facts straight, the so-called palestinians day in and day out attack, provoke, hate, murder, and will the complete genocide of the Jews, as well as many other subhuman cultures throughout the world, and I wish the hell that the Jews would get sick of it once and for all, and defend themselves by all means possible, even if it means the use of nuclear weapons.

Actually, your numbers are backwards. It is Israeli citizens dying at the hands of Palestinian suicide bombers, and Hamas terrorists. Israel goes out of its way (and suffers its own casualties) to prevent civilians from getting hurt.

However, in any war -- and Israel is at war because they keep getting attacked -- civilian casualties are unavoidable. Especially when the terrorists hide in civilian population centers, making it difficult to dig them out.

What's wrong with the world? Too many people hate those who are different than them, and use violence to express that hatred. That puts countries on the defensive, when their own citizens keep getting attacked by terrorist. Those countries then counter-attack to stop the terrorists. Violence begets violence.

Because of the targets. The palestinian people attack civilian targets on purpose, the israeli forces are attempting to attack people that are involved in these attacks at any level. They are not just bombing a village indiscriminately which they do have the power to do.

Well you sort of answered your own question. If Israel kills 10 of the Palestinians every time a Palestinian kills one Israeli, then you would think the Palestinians would quit killing Israelis. Seems kinda simple to me.
