Buy a suede shoe cleaner brush and solution from a shoe store and hit stains as they appear.

Real leather suede or more likely a microfiber fake suede?

If its real leather, it usually requires a leather cleaner and you can get a buffer for suede that may help that you can use yourself (get from a shoemaker).

If it is synthetic, try a spot cleaner out on a hidden area (you can try a little water first, or they do make dryclean fluid spot cleaners..check the stores). If it doesn't change the color or leave a ring on the hidden area, then you know it is save to use.

A hidden area might be under a cushion or underneath the couch.

Page 34 of the How to clean practically anything book says you when it becomes stained or soiled, your only recourse is professional cleaning. I'd recommend replacing them with microsuede pillows - same look, easier and cheaper to clean!

Wet Detergent plus softner. But I don't know where you'd find it. Maybe at a dry cleaners or a specialty store.
