Raspberry leaf tea softens and ripens the cervix in preparation for labour you can safely drink it from 37 weeks onwards. it does not start labour. It also tones the uterine and cervical muscles so that when the contractions start they are more effective. Some believe that because the contractions are more effective this shortens the length of the labour. My own expereince of raspberry leaf tea was that I drank it every day from 37 weeks onwards (following the manufacturers max dosages) and when I ahd to be induced for medical reasons at 39 weeks my cervix was 3cm dilated already which is unusual for a first time mother. My labour was also very short. Could have been the tea or could just be a conincidence.

It's supposed to tone your uterine muscles ready for contraction, making birth easier; not supposed to bring on early labour from what I understand. Never tried it myself. If you want to induce labour yourself, you should do something moderately strenuous, like a 6-mile walk. Although medics are given the 40 weeks thing as a rule, nobody knows the exact time when you conceived so in reality the birth can be give or take 2 weeks of the predicted date. Good luck, hope it's an easy one .

no it will not bring early labour at your stage but will tone the uturus and help prevent you going over your due date as well as help with the labour.
it is important to get the real rasberry leaves from a health shop, and soak for some time in hot water before straining. This is far more beneficial than rasberry leaf teabags or rasberry flavour tea.
At your stage you should take 2 cups of this a day. You can sweeten to taste.
I took the teabags with my first, was 2 weeks late, induced, terrible labour. I took the proper organic leaves with the second and third, my husband got them from a health food shop, which was better.

raspberry leaf tea can tone the uterus muscles so as with all muscles it makes them contract, hence why you should not try drinking b4 38 weeks, give it a go at your risk let baby stay in there for as long as possible, he will come when ready. try to enjoy your last few remaining baby free days, once he is here there is no turning back

Apparently it helps to soften the cervix. Never heard of it bringing on early labour though.

Raspberry leaf tea is supposed to ease the pain of contractions, so I believe. I drank some. It didn't work.
