I have no idea on how to spread the word. I must have heard somewhere a long time ago the phrase "God is self" and I have no idea where I heard it but I remember it coming clear to me one day. People pray for good things to happen or for the strength to make it through hard times and they are praying to God, but really, people make their own destiny. They are praying to themselves. They give themselves strength and good fortune by wanting and willing rather than some outrageous miracle directing their path. I have no idea whether there is a higher power, just as noone else has any solid evidence. All I know is that for now I have myself and if I don't believe in myself then noone else will. I guess all that can be done is to encourage others that they have 'it' in them. If they fall, be a good friend to those you love and catch them.

The world has been brainwashed for thousands of years about religion. It wont be changed, as long as people are followers with a closed mind. If there is anything to religion, why is the world in such a mess?

It's not the religion that you should believe in, it's God.
He created us. Religion is a human structure put in place for worshiping Him.
If everyone believed in themselves there would be no greater point of reference... let alone a good one.

What we need is less religious people and more people who seek a relationship with their creator.

Teach children to always ask questions, and not to believe anything just because someone says something that makes no sense. Teach how people CAN learn things, like how we know how far the stars and planets are, even though we didn't use a measuring tape.

Asking someone to believe in him or herself rather than something greater is a bit far-fetched of a goal. Most people I know are more than willing to accept the fact that they are not perfect. Why invest complete and utter belief in a system known to be flawed? Moreover, if you're willing to accept that you're not perfect, you first accept that there is something greater than yourself that you claim is.

So why shun that over-arching principle in order to gratify the ego?

When people are no longer weak, in search of help, be responsible for their own actions and thoughts, love themselves and respect each other in equality,
then, religion is not a need.

Excellent question, I have been wondering that for a long time! I think education and self confidence is the right path...

Start when they are very young and teach them how to think instead of what to think (you will probably have to keep them out of school if you want to do this).

. Allow a child to grow up without being told that mythology is truth and treat that child with respect, never hitting, trying not to yell, giving encouragement when a child struggles, celebrate with your child when they do well, and you will have a child who believes in him/herself.

People who only believe in themselves are doomed to a continual life of Columbine massacres. If there is a Hell...I'm damn sure not going to strive to be first in line, ARE YOU????????
