If you're in a new location, and it has just started happening, the problem is more likely etching, rather than a deposit. If that is the case, there is no way to return them to like-new condition.
Try a little lime remover, but don't bother trying and trying. If it doesn't work, they've been etched. You'll need some kind of pre-wash water softner to keep it from happening in the future.

Clean drinking glasses. Soak cloudy drinking glasses in warmed white vinegar for a few hours to remove the film. Simply wipe clean, rinse and dry.

A product made specifically for lime scale removal would work. A home remedy would be to make a paste out of baking soda and vinegar to use an abrasive.

I fill glass with hot water and pop a sterident tablet in (denture cleaning tabs) - leave overnight and then wash as normal the next morning - gleaming! Alternatively in the dishwasher, cut a lemon in half and pop it in the top tray when washing glasses - they come out sparkling.

Also try bleach. Let them soak and then make sure you clean glasses very well before drinking out of them.
