If you're in a new location, and it has just started happening, the problem is more likely etching, rather than a deposit. If that is the case, there is no way to return them to like-new condition.

Try a little lime remover, but don't bother trying and trying. If it doesn't work, they've been etched. You'll need some kind of pre-wash water softner to keep it from happening in the future.

Clean drinking glasses. Soak cloudy drinking glasses in warmed white vinegar for a few hours to remove the film. Simply wipe clean, rinse and dry.

A product made specifically for lime scale removal would work. A home remedy would be to make a paste out of baking soda and vinegar to use an abrasive.

I fill glass with hot water and pop a sterident tablet in (denture cleaning tabs) - leave overnight and then wash as normal the next morning - gleaming! Alternatively in the dishwasher, cut a lemon in half and pop it in the top tray when washing glasses - they come out sparkling.

Also try bleach. Let them soak and then make sure you clean glasses very well before drinking out of them.

you can us muriatic acid to remove then if you mix it about 2 teaspoons to a quart of water this also cleans coffee pots well too. the main thing to remember is to risce them several times in clean water before using
