Are you asking that if a company's name is used by a fraudster, is the company liable for YOUR loss? No way, dude!

The scammer is liable, but there's virtually zero chance that you'll ever identify them. And even if you did, they're probably in Nigeria or some other corrupt country so there's no chance of recovery.

Hope your loss wasn't too severe. At least you've learned a lesson; you don't get anything for free in this world.

if it was used without their knowledge, or their monitoring, then, no. but if you can find the slime that actually sent you the email, he's toast. good luck though, he probably already made himself scarce.

i tried to reply to your message you sent to me, yahoo wouldent verify your address for some reason (strange) but i edited my answer, and i wanted to put the reply i had tried to send to you through email here:

the smartest thing to do right now would be to find a good recommended lawyer that specializes in fraud, and tell him the whole story. you can try to peruse it yourself, but with that much money, I wouldn’t be trying to cut any corners by trying to do everything yourself, plus there are even some lawyers that wont charge you unless (or until) you win.

a good lawyer will know exactly what to do about grabbing her where it hurts if you still have contact with her. its all up to you, and I’m sure if you handle things correctly, and smoothly, you'll take care of everything, and you'll make it so she cant do this to anyone else again.
