The RARE occasions in which I feel inspired are usually brought about by "remembering" an emotion I haven't felt in years. If something is completely new and exciting, I feel surprised. So I'll go with the latter.

i don't get inspired by anything, except humour. but i don't see that as a reflection of myself but a response to the world at large. as a learning tool humour is inspiring-for me. for remembering things humour will keep something in my memory. probably comics could inspire more people by being cleverer with their material in a worldly, social and political way. politicians are clowns-but they are'nt funny, no matter how hard they try. we have some great comics but one the whole theyre either boringly mundane or think it's funny to swear all the time and be vulgar, i don't find that funny or attractive or inspiring. maybe i have a lot of the clown in me, sad for the world but basically a happy child within.

Things that inspires us do so, because we can start to see our own potential to do the same thing. If you didn't feel you were capable......you wouldn't be inspired. You would merely admire the ability of the other person and perhaps wish you could achieve so as well.
As we are inspired to try out this "thing" we believe we have the potential to do, we often times discover new thing about ourselves and our capabilities. So I suppose it does both. But as I said above......we are inspired because we have a notion that we can indeed try this ourselves....and perhaps...SUCCEED :)

No I do not think they tell us something completely new, they reflect subconcious thoughts, otherwise why wouldn't seeing a beautiful rose inspire us all to write poems? It inspires poets only because they already have something in there that helps them use stimuli -that other people let go- as inspirational fuel.

I think that they can be a combination of both.
It's certainly refreshing and invigorating to hear a new theory. It's very affirming to have a part of your self mirrored and to be able to understand better what makes you the complicated beast that you are.

Jealousy is the stinking smell of unfulfilled lusts. (Here treat each lust as a small creature. If not fulfilled within a short time, it dies)
