Should sleeping with a blankey end by the age of 5 or 10? Is sleeping with a blankey more of a male or female trend, or both? And does it make a difference if someone continues using a blankey is a boy or girl? I mean is it more acceptable for a woman to have a blankey than a man?

the best thing about a blankey is that it doesn't last - meaning if you suck your thumb it can last forever but if you wash the blankey enough times it just disintegrates - and by that time the child (teenager) grows out of it by his self

i think people would be less judgmental for a woman to have one that a man -.

I think the blankey is a boy thing, like Linus on Peanuts. However, having said that, I remember my own from when I was in the crib, (silky edges!) and my kids were territorial about theirs until they reached a certain point. I think they gave it up because the blankey no longer reached far enough to cover their feet, although I'd toss it over their "big kid" blankets for extra warmth in the winter.

After a while, they ended up in the linen closet, and they would think fondly of it, but didn't really have a coniption fit if they didn't have it. I guess when they started school they kind of forgot about it. As fo my own blankey, my mom sewed a bunch of baby blankets together to make one big one, but it was never quite the same. Oh, that mother of mine!

I sleep with a blankey and I'm 45. Everyone should sleep with a blankey. It gets cold at night!

There is no age limit. As long as the blankey is clean, and makes the child/person feel comfortable, then what's the harm in it?

There is no age limit! My 2 older boys never had a blanky but my youngest did. And he LOVED that thing to death. He is 4 now and no longer "needs" it but still uses it for comfort when sick or scared. One of my friends, though, told me her son who is 13 still keeps his blanky at the bottom of his bed and it is little more than a rag by now! I have 3 boys and most (if not all) their friends are boys so I can't help you on the boy/girl thing. But i would tend to say, its not hurting anything (like a pacifier with the teeth) so just let it play itself out.

I don't know if there's an age limit for people, but my banky from when I was 2 got really ratty when I was 53 and I had to toss it out.

I slept with my blanky till I went off and Joined the Marines. I don't think there should be a time limit on how long you sleep with you blanky. I still have mine, it was given to me the day I was born, and I will give it to my child.

No, but if you advertise it, people may shun you and occasionally kidnap it for blackmail purposes. It's not so much an "age limit" issue as an issue of "why do you need this childhood relic to feel comfortable?"

My two cents, anyway.
