You are being general in your thoughts, and conclusions. I come from a wonderful family, several generations....with mothers and fathers, grandparents, great grandparents, siblings who love one another, and children who keep in touch and get together for family holidays and birthdays.

I have a feeling you've taken what you read in the newspapers and heard on the news as the "normal" way of life for most Americans. You would be dead wrong to believe that most are like that, I can guarantee that. We have a holiday here, Thanksgiving....where ALL our family members gather to give thanks for all we have....my family is no different....with my brothers and sisters, spouses, children, GRANDchildren, my mother (my father and stepfather are dead), etc., etc., etc.

My mother married my daddy at age 18, and had a wonderful marriage that lasted for 18 years until my daddy died. She then met and married my stepfather, and had 21 years of a wonderful marriage with him until he was killed in a car accident. He had children, she had us, and we integrated those families and my siblings were NEVER considered "step" sisters/brothers....but full sisters and brothers. And they still are.

You need to delve a bit deeper into the American lifestyle....and quit forming opinions on hearsay and news stories....then and ONLY then will you get the REAL picture of American families and life!

Every society has its problems, including India. In my native language, there's a saying that roughly translated means that you never eat the food as hot as it is when it's cooked.
A lot of what people see and read about America (and in America about other countries) are extreme and rare situations, not at all common. If I said to you that Indian families are all about money because of dowry murders, would you agree? It's the same thing in America. The vast majority do not live lewd or immoral lives but are normal, regular people as in the rest of the world.

I know alot of families that do not have problems, I am sure there are family problems in India too. A 5000 year old civilization doesn't make it a good one, use the brain God gave you and wise up. There are cannibal tribes out there that are that old as well, It sure doesn't make them a good civilization! India has widespread famine and such. Every civilization has it's faults. Have a nice day!
