Looking at a picture of a path going through a forest or a road meandering across a country scene-- perhaps one shown traveling out across the desert- what is feeling or the meaning of that for you. Do you, --- or could you think about the road or path as a metaphor for your life. What would your path look like. Where would it be going. I am writing my disertation on this idea and would like to hear what you think.

If I see a road in a picture I feel the urge to go along it. (Unless it looks sinister!) It's a kind of promise of something (to me, anyway)

Paths and roads remind me of the direction I am heading in life. A desert could mean seeing my future as being wide open or barren without a focus depending on my emotional state at the time. A specific path may say that I am on the right path and to keep walking or doing what I am doing. I had a dream once that had a tree that was cut in the shape of a spiral. It's hard to explain, but my interpretation was that my life was improving for the better and the spiral which lead up towards the sky meant things were improving. Hope this helps. Pictures of raods always remind me transition. where you are now is where the picture starts and where it will take you is always a little bit uncertin (seeing as how the end of the road is usually out of frame). My personal path is a two lane road out on the desert mesa, with hills and tumble weeds and long blades of dry grass.and there are rain clouds up ahead, but not the ominous kind, the renewing kind. nothing surrounds the road except the scenery, but there looks like there might be civilization towards the end. i'll just have to wait and see.

well i am very visual so seeing a picture with a road would bring up association with travel - metaphorically speaking travel of thoughts destinations future and past. Of relationships and it usually is of a nostalgic nature.

If its a dirt road (are there any left?), going thru trees, I know it is going to end up at a little 'ole cabin just made for relaxation and rejuvination, from the noise of life!
