What can you do or contribute in your own little way as a simple citizen of the country to eradicate poverty?

I need your answers simple but from the heart. If you're a student how can you help? If you're an employee how can you help? Be realistic please.

I think the best way would to get involved in a charity organization that helps feed and cloth people in third world countries. Your donation might be small but imagine if everyone gave just a small portion. lets say every Person contributed $10 a year to help end poverty. That's $10 times will say 1 billion. So that would equally 10 billion dollars that would go for basic foods and clothing. This would not end poverty but would help in a major way.

Not much, I live on Social Security and have all I can do to live myself, but I can give a hello and a smile and am able to still do some volunteer work.
