But do you know how to decide?
Out of any two fractions having the same denominator, the fraction with larger numerator is larger, and that with smaller numerator is smaller.
If the denominators are not equal we can re-write the fractions such that their denominators are equal. 8/12 and 12/18 can be easily found to be equal just by simplification.
