Could be a number of things. Sounds like bad gas or fuel filter, but it could be ignition related as well. I would suggest taking this car to the shop. If you don't have that kind of cash, put some heat in the gas and change the fuel filter, air filter, and spark plugs. Good luck.

could be a number of reasons,
but I would be checking the fuel situation.
Is there enuf fuel in the car, it may have been sucking up bits of sediment in the bottom of the tank , you may also find that you may need a new fuel filter , if the fuel is not getting through properly

if the car is fuel injected there could be a few things,
one could be the throtal possion sensor or like other people said wire and plugs

sounds like low rail pressure for fuel, might be rail pressure switch...
