I highly recommend that you leave the size of tire that is on it now still on it. The size that is on it now is there for a reason and once you start playing with it you will begin to have problems.

You will have to change the speedo gear in the tranny...not too difficult. Is the truck lacking a lot of power on the highway? Do you have to take it out of OD to get up the hills on the highway? If so, then your gas mileage will improve. If not, and you reduce the circumfrence of the tires then your gas mileage will go down. It's all about horsepower/RPM/and final drive ratio. Good luck. If you decide to sell your rims and tires that are 16" I may be interested for a PintoLorean project. Thanks.

no... the smaller the tire the more the motor has towork to get an hold speed...plus the speedo will be off, it will look like you are going 55 but will only be doing 48mph... the larger tire will be the other way around but will cause lower rpm's an faster speed...

Yeah you will for accuracy's sake. It will show that you're going faster than you actually are. Just swapping to smaller rims is one thing but if you're going back to a street tire it's going to affect it even more.
