Hate is a self destructive emotion. If you are spiritual spending time in spiritual reflection seeking a way to come to a place of peace on the issue will help. If you are not/do not wish to be spiritual most counselors and psychologist/psychiatrists would recommend you look to find the cause of you intense feelings and address the cause.

Feelings are real and need to be addressed not suppressed. There are practical ways to lessen your exposure and thereby lessen the amount of time you are in a negative place. Simply avoid websites, movies, tv shows etc. that portray gay characters and situations.
