If you take a pregnancy test now and it comes out negative, you might have something else going on. Some people use the word "period" for any type of bleeding. A true period is the normal and routine flushing of the uterine lining and with it the egg that your ovary released that month, thus no pregnancy, and the cycle starts over. It is common for people to use the word period for any type of bleeding, that is where you get the misconception that some women get their period through their pregnancy. Many women experience some type of bleeding after becoming pregnant, implantation bleeding and spotting for unknown reasons are the correct terms. Heavy bleeding can be sign of miscarriage. As the pregnancy progresses all sorts of things can cause a bit of blood to pass, being mistaken for a "period". Again, if it was a period, the uterine lining would be flushed and the egg with it. My doc said any type of bleeding must be reported, it can be as simple as a small vein breaking due to the pressure of the growing fetus, a larger vericose vein bleeding from irritation (yes you get "vericose veins" in your vulva during pregnancy, very gross and painful!), cervical irritation, your hubbys sperm containing blood and confusing it with your own...etc, but it can also be very serious.

Regarding your conditions, are you dehydrated, what kind of fluids and how much are you drinking a day? Cut back on soda and caffeine if you drink a lot of it.... All of your symptoms are typical of dehydration and it is very common during the summer months. Try drinking lots of ice water, 1/2 gallon over the next couple of hours, then continue the rest of the day to complete a gallon. Continue this for the next few days, see how you feel.

You could have a sinus irritation or infection, stress releated headache or some other minor medical condition going on. Are you wearing sunglasses outside, seems simple enough but a lot of people get headaches if they don't.

There are some other medical conditions that you might need to consider, expecially if you are having unprotected sex. Hep C can cause flu like sympoms with fatigue, neausea, headache and overall muscle ache and if you are exposed you might sometimes show these symptoms 2-6 weeks after.

I hope these things help, if you don't feel good for this long and the simple things don't seem to help, you really want to get your doc involved...just to have a good old fashioned check up. Take care of yourself, ok?

I was going to say "No - getting a period means you are NOT pregnant." But after reading these other responses, I decided I must not know what I'm talking about. In fact, now I'm sort of freaked out. Who knew you could get your period during pregnancy? I mean, I've heard of a little spotting, but that's IT!

yes its quite possible, most don't usually bleed but a lot do, do a pregnancy test, I'm not too sure but id say wait until your period has finished, if it comes up negative make sure you do another pregnancy on the first day that your next period is due, just to be on the safe side. x
