I think the average size for a full term newborn baby is generally 6-8 or so pounds. My son was a week late and 8Lbs 8oz. my cousin's daughter was a few days early and weighed the same. my friend's daughter was a few weeks early and was still over 6Lbs. Both my sister and I were within the 8Lbs range respectivly. My cousins on the other hand, 2 of them were over 10Lbs each.
Multiple births for full term are generally a little smaller, but not always by much. My friend's older brothers, identical twins, were both between 6 and 7Lbs at close to full term.

It depends on the mother, the father, the family history and the pregnancy. my family has average to big babies.

i think the average weight for a girl is about 7 and a half pounds and boys about 8 - 8 and a half, but dont worry if your baby or a baby you know is over or under this, they all grow up different weights so it kinda evens itself out.

As long as baby is healthy - the weight doesn't really come into it.
Good luck and hope this helps. x x

In the US, I believe that the average weight of a newborn child is about 6 pounds.

Sadly it depends on your location. Those in some parts of Africa barely make 5 lbs whereas most European babies emerge at 7 lbs. It is interesting, child mortality is not always a function of the economic wealth of an area.

The USA a land where enormous amounts of money is spent health care has the 4th worst mortality rate of the developed nations narrowly bettering Lithuania by a hair on a babies head.

Really this is no no single answer to this question, but interesting nevertheless.

I think between 5 pounds 11 ounces and 9 pounds. Most babies seem to be in the 7's. My daughter was 6 pounds 4 ounces.

It depends on alot of things, but an average weight would be between 6 and 7 pounds.

My son was over 8 when he was born, I have a friend who delivered a 13 pound baby and another whose daughter was only 1 pound (she was premature).

Once they are born they also typically lose a bit of weight, not all (mine didn't) but that's normal.

Average weight of a full term newborn is 7.5lbs. But anything from 5lbs to 11lbs is average too!

My daughter was 7lb 8oz.
