World War One was started when Austria decided to punish the Slavs over the objection of Germany. They went in, Russia countered, Germany countered Russia's move. England countered Germany. The rest, as they say is history.

North Korea could do something equally stupid to Japan, this would bring us in. That would bring in China, and Russia since the two of them now have mutual aid agreements. This in turn would heat it up for the UK, and the Islamic Nations would back China against the old commonwelth nations. The whole globe is at it again.

I have pondered this myself, since North Korea has the backing of China and Russia it could very easily end up that way. But and this is the biggie, nobody wants a war of that scale, most likely to happen would be U.N. sanctions, if the North Koreans persist, then a military strike to eliminate the missile threat would seem to be the next logical step. I dont think Russia and China want a war, the economy in China is busy growing and Russia isnt waht it used to be.

So in answer to your question, No, I dont think all out war will happen, there isnt to polital will, Bush, Blair and other heads of state dont want to go own in history as the people who started the third world war because they couldnt sort their problems with other nations diplomatically.

No because the prior two War Worlds were fought truly over ideological or territorial differences. The current administration has no overarching ideological motive, unless you count making money for your cronies an ideology. Put simply, if there isn't a profit incentive for Bush's financial backers, there is absolutely no reason for him to declare war on a despotic nation like North Korea, even though this nation is more volatile than Iraq.

Heck no, that's impossible at all. I just looked through many people think it might happen. Come on it is 21 century and situation is completely different.

US less cares about North Korea compare with Iran. First of all, because it is economically weak and it is not Muslim country.

And the backup of N.Korea China is not interested in war, because of grows its economy, don't even mention about Russia, their less care about it, now they focused on improving their economy.

These days countries mostly concerned about their economy, and the citizens of those superpowers are not interested in going to war at all.

No, but we should keep an eye on things in Israel. Things are heating up again. Iran is another to keep a close watch on as well. North Korea is kind of crazy to think they can get away with what they did. I mean come on, to mess with Japan and the US.

Kim Jung Il and his father Mental lee Il don't et it. 1 Nuclear Sub has the capability of carring 24 missles. Launch 1 agressive missle toward us or ours, and North Korea becomes a wasteland. It can be justified, but I personally hope it doesn't happen, and really, Kim isn't that stupid. He just wants to talk to the U.S. one on one.....W. Just doesn't want to.
Vote Democratic!! Look where we are now after 8 years...2 wars we aren't winning, korea with missles and nukes, Iran making nukes..........aaaaaaaaaaaahahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Honestly, nobody really knows. I can easily see one one North Korea's missiles careening off course into mainland Japan. I hope the world's leaders are smart enough to understand what they are dealing with. Bush and Blair and both toned down their rhetoric as of late...showing maturity and a better understanding of the world's conflicts.

Yeah. I think stuff is going to blow up soon.
Considering what is going on right now in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the ongoing violence (war basically) between Israel and palestine, and the serious hotspots of Iran and North Korea... and terrorists planning to carry stuff out in the u.s...
Basically, it seems like the whole world will be at war soon...

I think there will be a third world war, yes. It is a question of when, not who or what one situation will lead to the destruction of mankind..I believe it is inevitable when countries fight for power and superiority through Nuclear Weaponry.
