I think that's an excellent question. Misspelling words or using "cute" abbreviations (such as ur for you're) shouldn't be so widely accepted. Are we just supposed to be able to sound it out to try and figure out what the hell you're talking about? I thought that was why there was a standardized form of a language so that people could understand one another. Some wonder why America's test scores are getting lower and our children just aren't learning. Gee, can't imagine why when we don't even know how to properly use our own language. Grammar and spelling, whether we like it or not, are fundamental parts of communication and should be treated as such.

because some people don't care if it's spelled (spelt) right, others really can't spell, still others are using abbreviations. why does spelling matter, anyway? it's just an artificially created convention based on someone's personal sense of aesthetics. nobody should care about spelling. of course, what people _should_ do/think/care about and what they _do_ do/think/care about are totally unrelated. now i'm babbling. :P

I think it's more than just the spell check. Most of them seem to be missing every third word. Sometimes it's just net-speak abbreviations... but sometimes it's...
"I got me watermelon. How get in?"
It's quite charming really ;)
