Your chances for having one is higher because you'll be exposed to higher levels of synthetic estrogen (which is the one that causes it), but there must be the environment to support it (like high fats, imbalanced hormones). Try going for natural estrogen by drinking a glass of fresh soya milk every two days (just don't overdo the soya thing).

It depends who you talk with..the new idea is that hormone replacement can cause cancer..that is why women who have been on long term replacement have or are being weened off their medications..Some say the studies were flawed..I would talk with my physician about my concerns and how they feel about it..I have heard that you are at greater risk by taking them so I have chosen not too.but I have had a great transition through menopause and donot have any problems..minimal hot flashes and that was all..on the other hand some women have horrible menopausal symptoms and need replacement medications..good luck

The causes of cancer are not entirely known. One book I read indicated that insulin overproduction (hyperinsulinemia) may make one more susceptible to cancer formation. If hormone replacement therapy is needed due to some of the other effects of hyperinsulinemia then it may be coincidence that the therapy and the cancer occur in the same person.
