In our office we've had laptops from a few companies. So far Dell is the outstanding leader. No Dead on Arrivals and 1 keyboard replacement. Among our desktops, 0 DOA and 2 psu replacements.
Dell's strong point is its tech support. Compaq's tech support isn't so good in my experience. Sony's wasn't that great either (although it was just 1 incident).
I don't know about IBM, Mirus or Cisnet though.

Sony computers are considered to be trash by many people in the industry. They should stick to tv's and VCR's.
Dell is great because of the support. The only downfall is that there is a waiting period after you order to get one.
I've never heard of either Mirus or Cisnet.
IBM is Junk (If they still make stinkpads, um, i mean thinkpads)
Compaq-HP are decent machines, however some are junk

Hey, i would say........none!! Get An Apple !! I think People Need to stop living in the dark ages and open their eyes to the beautiful apple products....I have one thing for you to do for me.....imagine a apple computer on your desk white sleek modern look or a plasticy toshiba plonked on it.... there's your answer

i think Toshiba if not, then Dell or Sony the best choices as par on my own experiance!

depends on your cash if you have alot to spend then sony if you dont have alot then try a lower quality
