People can change when they want to and accept new horizons, but keep in mind that our personalities are made by the age of five and that doesn't change it is part of our upbringing.
Today people chan ge all the time from clothes to another. People change from straight to Bi-Sexual daily it is people who change and not the change itself.

Ever wonder why young is innocent...because they have yet to mature and understand what brings about change in all of us. As I get older I am changing beyond my control, but I feel much better and I still pack a long rod:)

It's not that people do not want to change sure there are exception but in general people who want to change do not really have the courage to do so because on one side they have get use to their bad habits and secondly to bring about changes need a lot of sacrifices and they have also to be strong mentally. Moreover, there are also uncertainties about the outcome of their changes so this can be a factor which mainly discourage people to change.

If you want to understand from science perspective, its law of intertia which says, anything which is in a particular state, will remain in that state if there is no additional force applied since that is its stable state. Applying to our behavior, development of a particular behavior is result of establishment of certain mental models that one makes based on experience, environment and mental capability. One takes that to be its stable state since in the same environment if there is no significant force or scenario, existing evolved state is already outcome of existing forces. So if you just ask people to change, that is not a significant force which will make them change.

Getting to softer side, a change always requires getting out of our comfort zone that we have developed through struggle with our environment already. And that is the reason the moment we ask people to change, that builds up mental pressure of starting from scratch to again struggle with new situation and get to another stable state and hence, people resist.

People do not like to change. Change often brings about unknown and unpredictable results.

People tend to fear the unknown. The resistance to change, therefore.....is based on fear. Most people would rather stay the same.....and have their environments stay the same....than to risk the possible consequences of change.

Not me. I finally figured out......that I would rather spend fifty years in this world "living".....than to spend one hundred simply "existing."

God bless!
