my friend makes blankets by tieing the ends of both pieces of material together and has to do no sewing. She is away now and I need the blanket for my new granddaughter.

Personally, I worry that doubled fleece might be a bit too hot for a baby. Also, all those frilly ties might be a choking hazard.

Might I suggest you get one of those cutting guides for rotary cutters and make a cute wavy edge on it instead? You most likely would need no other edge finishing on it...

They are very easy to make. Just go by a couple yards of fleece. You will need two pieces, and they can be the same or different, just whatever you prefer. you will then slit all four sides of both pieces. cut them 1" wide and 5" long on all sides. Cut small 5" squares from each corner. Tie them together. My daughter has made several of these--they are great gifts for school friends, and not too expensive!

First you get as much as you need in contrasting colors {for front and back} lay it out on table or floor one on top of otherwith right sides of both facing out. begin by cutting through both materials along sides about 3 inches in , spacing about 3 inches apart . after you are done cutting tie both materials together in a knot and you are done
