Has the talent to be world class - moments of great skill during the games, but most people are all too aware of the not so sporting nature of his game. I hope that element of his game will change as he matures. He also needs to become more of a team player, as he seeks headlines for himslef by taking on impossible shots, when a simple pass would open up a player in a great position. If he can leave the unsportsmanlike element of his game behind him, then he will be an awesome talent in time for 2010.

Cristiano has painted himself in a corner with his simulation antics in the World Cup games; he could have won "Best Young Player" but FIFA opted for a player with more wholesome attributes. How can FIFA honour someone practising "unsporting behaviour" - he would be a disastrous role model. Ronaldo would do well to leave Man Utd before the new EPL season begins; his footballing days in England are over. Scotland or Spain?

He is a good player and played well, no doubt but certainly not the best young player.
But he was clearly the UNFAIREST young player, belonging to a team with weak morals.
Portugal has certainly disaapointed the world with their attitude - frst against Dutch and then against England. Not that others are saints but they seemed to have crossed limits. I was happy to see them go out, even though i m not really a France fan.

OHHH this is a tough one! He played well but will never be forgiven or forgotten. He has made his way into the history books as a wuss and traitor. I don't know if the "step" by Rooney was on purpose or not, I thought not but hubby said you don't step on someones balls on accident - lol, but Ronaldo would have been better off to get up and get his own "foul" on England.

No denying the fact that he has good skills..on which he could work up more for the coming games..
But more than tat he needs to be mature and be a bit fast at that,,Bcoz going by the number of games he has played , he is now not in the category of "Newbies of soccer"..
Better if he joins the league of respected players soon..to his own benefits...!!

i think he's the best young player too, but of course a german guy won the title for best young player, since the world cup was held in germany.
i really dont think he plays like a dutch man, i actually think he plays like a latin guy.
and i also dont think he's diving that much, not more than the italian players do.

He was the most ambitious, passionate, talented young player out there in the field. He does not deserve ANY of the **** ed up **** he's been recieving regarding his rep. This WC proved alot of racist bitter people who can't admit to failure, when ironically, the whole theme was anti racism and true sportsmanship.

Flashes of sheer genius but sadly flashes of diving. Totally surrounded by a morally bankrupt team who we do anything to win. Plays like a dutchman but destroyed the game against the dutch.

Great young talent but not enough international experience. Needs to stop complaining all of the time.

i think he played exceptionally well and that people should leave him alone about the whole rooney incident. Hes a great player and he just wants his team/country to win.
