Every time, a big tournament comes, we get all the rubbish about them being winners and when they inevitably lose, the usual complains of being cheated. Wishing ill of their vanquers, why can't they good sports like the Americans, Germans et al, who admit their failings and congratulate the winners?

What do you think the English are thinking when they see Italy, a nation whose league they long deride and the French, whom they mock, take their due places at the Olimpiastadion at 8pm CET?

Well I for one, am looking forward to an entertaining game against two teams that have an excellant defence. I hope it will be like last night with end-to-end attacking, but normally the final is a more cagey affair.

I think you will find most English fans did not have too much hope that we would win, particuarly with the choice of strikers made by Sven - two injured players, one lanky beanpole, and a 17 year-old who had not even played a first team game for his club.

I think you will find the claims of cheating by some players to a certain extent are valid, but hugely hyped up by the tabloid press - this they do to sell newspapers. There has certainly been some diving going on by some players, which I personally think is unacceptable. It's not clear from your post whether you think cheating is just part of the game and should just be accepted as so. I think FIFA needs to do something to stamp it out. Were England cheated out of winning the World Cup, well no, we were not good enough to win it, and played boring, negative football. English fans/newspapers were not the only nation to say they had been cheated against - I am sure you are aware of the claims of Australians' when they played you and you were awarded a penalty. Any team/nation that feel they have been cheated against in any form is likely to complain, and that is their right to do so.

The English do not mock your league; it is recognised in England as one of the strongest in the world, which is why English clubs ooften seek transfers from Italian clubs. I think with the scandal going on in Italy surrounding Seria A is a shame, and not what the fans who pay good money to watch football deserve. For instance, if I were a Juve fan, I would be horrified that my team might be relagated for the alledged match fixing - it is like the fans are being punished.

With France - we do not mock them - we have a friendly rivalry (in all sports) - I have some French friends, with whom I get on well, and can clearly see that we are very similar nations.

I am sorry that you have not drawn the argumentative reply that you most likely were craving, but I can only say what I beleive. And for the record, I shall be supporting Italy tonight, but will also be happy for Zidane should France lift the cup.

Good luck for tonight - I hope you enjoy the game.

they probably would be thinking something along "f*** cristiano ronaldo.. that little cheating diver who cost us a game! yes a game!we english know what realll sportsmanship is.. hope rooney beat the sh*t out of him .. if it wasnt for that slimy diver we would be in it! we are better thaan italy AND france.. etc"

you are right they should stop complaining and get over the fact that they lost.. and it has nothing to do with c ronaldo.. one day theyll wake up and realize it ..
