Excuse me, but isn't one of the reasons for global warming American's thirst for big SUVs? I realize that lots of other countries have gas-guzzling vehicles but it seems the U.S. seems to think that it has a right to waste natural resources. And it's this prevalent attitude that gives the impression that America in reality doesn't care about the environment. And then there's the problem of Bush and his pals wanting to dig oil out of the Arctic. Talk about an environmental disaster waiting to happen. And why would they even consider it? Because as Bush once said if America needs oil, America will have oil. This is environmentally friendly?

Well, with your ID outing you as a Reagan lover, it's not surprising that you would ask. Oddly, many other countries care quite a bit more about some environmental issues. They signed the Kyoto accords, for example, while the US arogantly sat on its hands.

You seriously need an educaton about the environment and about history.

its because people in third world countries have so much problem way bigger than environmental issues. whenever they wake up in the morning they have to find food to feed themselves and their families, when lunch time comes pretty much the same problem facing them, in the evening still the same problem, and when they get up the next day the whole process starts all over again. so don't complain if americans seems to be the only who happens to care about the environment just be grateful that you live in a nation that can eat whatever you want and whenever you want it.

easily. believe it or not tremendous strides were made on account that i turned right into a baby interior the 60's. If issues had persevered as they were with people throwing trash out their vehicle domicile windows, dumping waste in streams, rivers and different bodies of water and problems with this nature, we will be a lot worse off than we are.

I think you are confused. Between 15% and 25% of pollution in this world comes from the US. The US refused to back the Kyoto Treaty on bringing down greenhouse emissions. The US is the one that needs to change.

really, you are joking right?

while many Americans do care about the environment, our government seems to show an over all disregard for the environment. Other countries are making strides we can only dream of... if only the US gov would work as hard to make our air as safe as they try to make our cars!

You're kidding, right? In the US, all the government cares about is the economy, and all coampanies care about is making money, no matter how...

How can you make the statement that Americans care about the economy when they drive SUVs, don't conserve and are obsessed with consumerism?

I'm sorry, are you living in a bubble? Its the US who contributes as an individual nation the most pollution in the world, and it is Australia who has to put up with the crap and have the ozone hole right above us!

I have to disagree with you on this topic. The US is no more or no less involved than any other developed nation. Some nations governments just react quicker than others.
